Well, that's a serious contender for the shortest lived resolution I've ever made, but I've decided to shelve the plan to write something in French every, or even most days.

I started my new job on Thursday, and two days of working full time hours took a lot more out of me than I was expecting. I imagine that partly that's just getting used to it after a couple of months of having very few demands on my time, and partly it's because I'm still not completely recovered from the surgery, but even so, until I've got back into the routine and know how much spare energy I'll have for other things, I don't want to be adding anything unnecessary to my to-do list.

The job does look as though it's going to be quite fun and interesting, and I'm looking forward to getting properly stuck in, but I might be quite limited in availability for a little while.
