Online readthrough - options poll
Mar. 18th, 2020 06:39 pmOkay - I've had the following suggestions and/or ideas for a readthrough:
- Something about sheltering from the plague, like an adaptation of Masque of the Red Death or the Decameron. I can totally see the appeal of this, but understand it might not be everyone's cup of tea, and have not been able to find any scripts for any longform versions in any case. There are a couple of very short Masque of the Red Death adaptations with 4-6 speaking parts, which those of a suitably macarbre disposition could possibly do after the main event.
- All's Well That Ends Well, which is apparently based on one of the stories in the Decameron, so there's a bit of a link there. Scripts available free from Project Gutenberg
- Love's Labour's Lost, being one of Shakespeare's lighter comedies, which is perhaps the mood we should be going for. Scripts available free from Project Gutenberg
- Good Omens. We wouldn't have time for all of this (and I'm still intending to organise an in person version at some point), but we could do an episode or two, and perhaps continue at a later date. Available from Kobo or Amazon for £3.99.
- Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Available from Amazon for £6.99 or Kobo for £7.19
I'm going to suggest a time of 14:00 (GMT) on Saturday, although shout out in the comments if that's not good for you. And after a couple of people have commented recommending Zoom over Skype, I shall get a pro subscription (unless anyone already has one that we can use?). Feel free to point other people at this post, as I know that not everyone reads Dreamwidth, but I don't really want to reactivate my Facebook account to publicise it more widely.
