The last few days have been slightly less logistically complicated, because
robert_jones went away for a few days of walking holiday, but sadly his back has been playing up, which combined with the weather has led him to decide to come home early. And I can't even say that at least it'll be nice to see him, because I won't, in fact, see him.
I've been getting plenty of virtual social contact, which has helped keep me sane. As well as the Faustus readthrough, I played some board games with
hjdoom, had a lovely phone chat with
atreic, and my usual Tuesday evening Zoom with
leonato, and tonight I'm having another 'cook and eat together remotely' session with
themidnightgirl, as I continue to work my way through East.
Today I've been revising the basics of video editing, stitching together a recording of me praying the glorious mysteries of the rosary, with some brief meditations from Pope Francis, to help people who can't or don't want to travel in to Mass celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday. It's very amateurish, but it hangs together, and I should probably find some more opportunities to do similar videos, so I don't immediately forget everything I've learned. (You'll be able to watch it here from Saturday.)
On Saturday I have to go into hospital for a Covid swab test, which I'm excited about mostly because it's a chance to leave the house. I can even get some exercise, since on foot is clearly the safest way to get there, and running rather than walking reduced the amount of time I spend outside. I've decided that going a slightly longer off-road route is a legitimate choice, because there will be fewer people and more space to avoid those there are. I don't think I can justify an extra loop or two of Alexandra Park though, no matter how low I think the risk is :)
