La semaine dernière, Ramesh et moi avons pris nos vacances, mais chez nous. Nous n'avons aucun travaillé, et nous avons passé beaucoup de temps nous nous amusons ensemble.

Last week Ramesh & I took a holiday, but at home. We didn't do any work and we spent lots of time enjoying ourselves together. We started off with gentle entertainments at home, watching Batman Forever, which Ramesh wanted to see my reaction to (I thoroughly enjoyed the excessive silly campness, although I probably did have to be in the right mood for it). We also played our first game of Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, which we had bought with some wedding gift amazon vouchers, so it was a nice way to mark our anniversary.

On Wednesday we actually ventured out of the house, going to the Aubrey Beardsley Exhibition at the Tate Modern er, Britain. Fortunately they were understanding about us going to the wrong museum, and allowed us to move our booking later with minimal faff. And that meant that we got to travel between the two Tates onna Boat! I was a lot more excited about this than Ramesh was. I generally enjoyed the exhibition. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I'm basically aware of Beardsley as the illustrator of Salomé, so it was nice to get a slightly broader sense of his ouvre. He did draw a lot of drawings though, and although the exhibition made a big deal of the wide range of influences he incorporated, by about half way through it was starting to feel just a little bit repetitive. Combined with me still being a bit tired and fragile this lead to me skipping over the last few rooms rather quickly. We had lunch in the café, which was my first time eating out since lockdown began. There were seats outside though, and it didn't feel particularly weird.

We had planned a couple of other excursions, to the Zoo and to Alexandra Park for a picnic, but I was sufficiently exhausted by the first one that we decided that discretion was the better part of valour, and instead stayed at home and played more Sherlock.

Vinegar Tom will be our next play. The script is available as part of Caryl Churchill: Plays Vol 1, which costs £11.11 on Kindle, or there are some cheap second hand paperbacks from both Amazon and Abe Books. Casting requests in the comments please. I'm planning to do the casting on Sunday, so that people who have songs have a decent amount of notice, so responses by the end of Saturday would be great.
