I'm increasingly impressed with my GP's surgery. It used to be the case that there seemed to be an enormous about of hoop-jumping required, and that I was expected to attend in person for things that could easily have been sorted out by email or over the phone (which is problematic when you spend half your time living away from home during the week, as I tend to do). The last few times I've dealt with them though, everything has seemed to just work. I don't know if it's better training for the admin staff or a more functional IT system, but whatever it is, it's great.
Work continues to be ridiculously hectic - the last couple of days I've started at seven, in the hope that I could finish a bit early, but apparently doing that just means I end up working a longer day. On the other hand, I've not been running out of steam during the day, and it does actually feel as though I'm now taking things off the to-do list quicker than they're being added to it, so if I can keep up this momentum then I might be able to relax eventually.
My spiritual direction course continues tonight, and we're going to be talking about sin, which is quite a weighty topic. I'm looking forward to seeing how we approach it.
