New new contract....

I have been sufficiently rubbish at posting here recently that the 'new job' that I had on my mental list of things to write about mostly finished about a month ago, and this afternoon I have an introductory meeting for the next one. On the surface there are quite a few similarities between the two roles. Both clients are in the process of switching to a new student records system, and both of them want my expertise in setting up the systems to deliver statutory returns, but I think the new one is going to be a bit more hands on. And of course so much of a job depends on the people and the institution, and I'm not going to know what the differences are there until I get going.

I've been rather enjoying not having much work recently, but I am getting to the point where having some income again soon would be quite useful. And I do tend to enjoy and find myself more engaged with work at the beginning of contracts, so I'm quite looking forward to getting started.
