the "don't be weird" and "this is how (un)popularity works" bullying and conventions displayed on tv in childhood were so effective that I internalised them to the point of feeling uncomfortable around a certain level of stereotypically autistic behaviour, because i was afraid of being seen as guilty by association and (further) ostracised.
