Online readthrough - Dr Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe, Saturday 8th August

This week's readthrough will be Dr Faustus. We'll be using the 1616 quarto, which is available from Project Gutenberg here. Please make sure to use this version and not the 1604 as there are significant differences. Some character notes are here - part preferences in the comments please.

I don't know it well enough to care about parts; but I am willing to take a shot at the Latin bits or be Certifiably Evil, if other people are trying to avoid those things.

Hmmm:

Wagner, good angel, evil angel, valdes, cornelius, horse-courser.

My autocorrect decided I meant house-courser for some reason 😛

Also open to additional small parts, but I feel like there are some aspects of religion and wrestling with it I'd rather watch other people in the group convey, since I'm going to have a much narrower perspective to bring to it.

One or two small parts will be good, partly because I am currently bereft of contact lenses, and am thus not reading text as well as normal.

I'm excited for this one! Large or small parts fine, human or celestial, good or evil. Probably not a clown. Can manage some Latin.

No preferences here, but add me to the list of people who won't be overly phased by being asked to read a bit of Latin.
