The burglar alarm for the nursery across the road has been going off for the last 45 minutes. A couple of times it has stopped for about a minute, just long enough to lull me into a false sense of security, before starting up again.

In the past it has done this regularly, although this is the first time in a while. It seems to be more of a problem in the summer, which I have assumed is something to do with the heat having an effect on the electronics, but who knows. It's also more annoying then because the windows are open, but even with them closed it's definitely not going to be letting me get any sleep :(

As I recall, they're supposed to cut off after twenty minutes. /-:

Hmm. I wasn't tracking timings carefully, but it may well be that it was cutting off after 20 minutes and then starting up again. There was a longer gap at about half past one during which I managed to sleep a bit, then another burst at around half two, after which it finally stopped for good.

I left a slightly grumpy message on their answerphone, and logged a complaint with the council, who will apparently take action if they get three noise nuisance complaints about the same address within a month, so I'm sort of torn between wanting it to happen again fairly soon so it can be dealt with for good, and hoping that this is the last time before the summer...

The burglar alarm Dad had in the 90’s would malfunction whenever there was lightening but I would hope the technology has improved since then...
