Grumpy update

I've had a stye (eyelid infection) for the last few days which is causing me quite a lot of pain and making me very grumpy. Ramesh is doing his best to be supportive and look after me, but the main thing I want when I'm ill or in pain is to be left the fuck alone, and we only had a few days of being able to see one another between him testing out of Covid jail and my eye starting to hurt, so he's finding it quite difficult and sad-making.

I'm not very good at shouldering on through non-self-inflicted physical pain, so I'm only managing to do the bare minimum of useful stuff, which isn't helping with the grumpiness. It should pass in another few days at most, and I'm not quite so overloaded at the moment that I won't be able to catch up, but in the meantime it's a bit miserable. *sulk*

I'm sorry to hear that. I had endless styes as a child, but haven't had one for decades now, I think. They're certainly no fun.

You can get anti-inflammatory eye drops that'll help.

But... Next-to-nobody who isn't medically trained uses them safely, in a way that minimises the risk of eye infection.

I learned fast, what with needing eye drops to mitigate hay fever and dust allergies all year 'round: and I still get styes every three to five years.

So: sympathy.

Oh, that is rubbish. I hope as this was a few days ago that you are feeling better by now.

Kean has had one too, which is weird.
