I've had to wear varifocals for several years now, covering an exciting combination of presbyopia, astigmatism and high degree myopia. (Also I have glaucoma and possibly the beginnings of cataracts.) I'm just resigned to having to spend several hundred pounds every couple of years in order to see moderately well. Annoyingly, I'm not *quite* blind enough to get a discount on my lenses, though at least the glaucoma means I get free eye tests.
