Refreshment

One of the frustrating things about having been as busy as I have been the last few weeks is that it makes you realise that even fun and refreshing things take executive function to get started, and so the few snatched hours I've had between work and non-work responsibilities and not-quite-enough sleep have mostly been spent scrolling through the internet and playing pointless phone games, rather than anything that gives me genuine pleasure.

A good sign that I am starting to recover is that yesterday evening I found the tuits to listen to an audiobook and crochet. It was, admittedly, a reread of a popcornish historical romance, but the point is that I enjoyed it and didn't have the nagging feeling of "I'd actually much rather be doing something else, if I could just put down the phone... maybe after one more game..."

It may be of interest to some of you that Audible have started including a fairly substantial library of "free" books that you can listen to as long as you've got an active subscription, and that these currently include two of KJ Charles's trilogies.
