Small successes
Nov. 6th, 2021 07:58 pmI've just managed to persuade a printer that wasn't behaving to work again. I realise that this is hardly the world's greatest achievement, but whilst I'm generally reasonably adept with computers themselves, I have pretty much a hate-hate relationship with printers.
I couldn't get it to work last week, and ended up printing pewsheets on Robert's printer, which I can't reasonably do long term, so this time I printed out one copy and took it with me, intending to photocopy it if I couldn't persuade the printer to actually print. And initially it didn't, but I fiddled with settings, and whilst not managing to fix the root problem (which is that it's determined to take paper from a drawer that doesn't exist), I did find that opening and closing one of the other drawers immediately after sending the print job makes it work. I am more pleased with myself than is entirely reasonable.
