Recruiting soup kitchen volunteers

My church runs a soup kitchen every Tuesday evening to support the homeless and those in food poverty in the area. We're looking for volunteers to oversee the project about once every six weeks. The church is about 5 minutes walk from Finsbury Park station, so easy to get to from anywhere on the Victoria or Piccadilly lines. What would it entail? Would you need to have any certain experience? And would it matter if you were not Christian?

There's a detailed role description here - but basically managing at least two other volunteers and with them setting up the space, cooking soup, serving it, chatting to the guests and clearing up afterwards.

Not being a Christian definitely isn't a problem. "Although the Soup Kitchen is run by the church, it is non-religious in its delivery and volunteering is open to anyone aged over 18, regardless of religion."

Brill, then if I've understood correctly that it's not an every-week commitment, I think I shall put myself forward.

Yep, it's about once every six weeks, and there's a rota which is organised by google poll. Thank you so much :)

I want to do some kind of volunteer work, but in no way have the spoons for a weekly commitment, so this is perfect :)
