It's been a relatively uneventful week. Last weekend
smhwpf came over so I could show him how I do the church bookkeeping, which he is very nobly taking off my hands, and on Sunday evening we had our monthly "House Date Night", and played Dominion, of which we very egalitarianly* won one game each. I went to another rehearsal of the university choir, which feels like it's going quite well. In particular, when the director made us get all mixed up and stand with the other parts, I was a lot more able to hold to the tenor line without following the people next to me than I expected to be.
On Thursday I took myself to the cinema to see All Is True, a heavily fictionalised biopic about Shakespeare's later life. It's got fairly variable reviews, and I think that's probably fair - the plot is a bit meandering, and some of the characters are a bit two-dimensional, but there's some stellar acting, and I very much appreciated the bi representation.
Friday Five on grocery shopping
1. Do you make up a dinner plan for the coming week?
Usually, yes; I'll plan what I'm going to cook on the 2-3 nights when I expect it to be my turn, although invariably someone ends up being out when they said they were going to be in, or in when they were going to be out, so the rota never actually makes it to the end of the week in the same shape as the plan. I have enough recipes I can make with store cupboard ingredients that it generally doesn't cause me problems.
2. Do you make up a shopping list and stick to it when shopping?
Sort of. We have a bunch of Ocado saved lists that correspond to the things we keep in the various cupboards in the kitchen, and we run through them each week identifying what we've run out of.
3. What is one thing that you always buy, but never put down on a list?
Ice-cream. Well, maybe not at this time of year, but when we are buying ice-cream we vary what sort we get often enough, or ocado changes what's available, that we never quite manage to keep the list up to date with our buying habits.
4. Is there anything that you always think you are out of and come home with it to discover you already have a year’s supply on hand?
No, although a few months ago we ordered one packet of black peppercorns, and they sent us a box of ten packets, and I'm not sure we're ever going to get through them...
5. Do you get your groceries delivered?
Yes. I'm not quite sure how we ever coped before.

Thanks for playing along with The Friday Five!
