So I have a slightly tickly throat. It's not by any means a persistant cough. Under normal circumstances I don't think I would even be aware of it, but obviously I am more than usually aware of my respiratory system right now, and so I'm concious that I'm clearing my throat slightly more often than usual. (At least, I think so. Maybe this is actually my normal amount of throat clearing, and I'm just noticing it now. I honestly don't know.) I've been monitoring my temperature daily since the guidance to self-isolate with a fever came out, and it's remained normal.
I asked the other person in the social engagement I was feeling most unwilling to cancel what he thought, and he said it would probably be better to do so. And then I cancelled both my other social engagements this week and booked the next available Ocado delivery to my Huddersfield flat so that if I do end up self-isolating here I won't run out of food.
I've got a train ticket back to London on Friday, so had been tentatively planning to go back then, but now that I've got no plans keeping me in Yorkshire, and Ramesh is now on the final day of self-isolation perhaps I should eat the cost and go back tomorrow, especially as that would mean I could go at not-rush-hour (which would also mean the walk home from KX would be in daylight and therefore probably more pleasant). Or perhaps I should be self-isolating already and that would be irresponsible towards other train users and R&R.
I'm not even sure whether it would be wrong of me to nip out to the Sainsbury's across the road now and pick up a few things that would make my diet between now and next Tuesday a bit less tedious.
I'm reasonably certain that unless I start actually coughing involuntarily or my temperature rises I'm okay to go out for a run.
Decisions are hard :(

Date: 2020-03-16 02:28 pm (UTC)From:Is there any pressing reason that today is a much better time to decide than tomorrow? Your thickly throat may have developed into a cough by tomorrow (in which case you know to stay put), or it might be much more obviously just a throat-clearing thing (in which case travel to London on Wednesday still gets you home to loved ones sooner.)
Running should be fine as long as you are feeling well enough to run, I should think, though if you are coughing for real I would avoid crowded event type runs where you could breathe on people.
