Whilst there is going to be no public worship in churches, one member of the St John's congregation, [personal profile] artsyhonker is going to be livestreaming Compline at 20:00 tonight, and at least a couple of times a week from now on.

The church is fundraising to keep supporting the most vulnerable in our community - in particular to make sure that the Soup Kitchen is able to keep running in some form whilst protecting those who need it, and to start operating as a non-contact non-referral Food Bank, as the other local options are running out of capacity.

My tickly throat remains a slight tickle. There's been one or two moments when I've thought "okay, maybe this is actually a cough now", and then it goes away completely for several hours. However, in the light of the latest recommendations, [personal profile] robert_jones is self-isolating until 14 days after [personal profile] obandsoller's cough started (which will be next Tuesday), and thinks that if I were to come home before that I should self-isolate starting a timer then. That co-incides with 7 days after my throat tickle started, so at that point I might as well follow the guidelines for people living alone and self-isolate here until then. I'm still going to be going out running, but that shouldn't bring me within two meters of anyone else for more than a second or so, and as far as I can make out, is permitted even when isolating.

I spoke to my 79-year old aunt today, and she doesn't seem to be taking it very seriously, which worries me. Dad thinks that she basically feels that life in isolation wouldn't be worth living and so is being fatalistic about whether she gets the virus. I don't think there's a lot I can do, except make sure to be in more regular contact, so the thought of being physically isolated becomes less scary.

Sorry to hear you have potential lurgy, hope isolation isn't too maddening and running helps. Kim my partner is still solo cycling to keep her lung fitness up as she's asthmatic and lung-fitness from cycling has really helped improve her asthma this last year or so.

I can see your aunt's point of view, frustrating and worrying though it might be.
