wildeabandon: Comedy tragedy masks (drama)
Our next readthrough will be This House, by James Graham, which many of you may have seen streamed by the National Theatre recently. I have a pdf version of the script which has converted to ereader tolerably well, although for a smoother reading experience it's available for Kindle for £6.92, or for other e-readers as part of a collection of four plays for £14.59.

This play has A Lot of parts, so casting will be easier if we have plenty of people :) As ever, let me know any part preferences in the comments.

I've said "yes please" as my blood test results look basically sensible. There's a small chance that my appointment runs slightly late, so perhaps it would be best if I wasn't cast as anyone that appears in the prologue, just in case... as always, no women, please.

Also - my other half, Natalie, who is not generally very interested in reading Things, but who really likes This House, would love to read with us, since there are Many Parts, if folk were happy with that (in which case she would much rather have a small part!)

The above sentence should be taken out and shot for crimes against good writing, sorry!

And now the appointment has been moved, so that all becomes completely irrelevant, as I'll be on the computer in a virtual appointment until 15:00. :sigh:

Hope it goes well and sorry I won't be able to be there :S

Sorry, I seem to be being especially useless at wording today.

Natalie also can't be there; I think probably could get her bit done first, but the computer will have to stay in the appointment until it's finished :(

I would love to play either Bob Mellish, Humphrey Atkins or Jack Weatherill, but as I have been generously cast in recent readthroughs, will be happy to do ensemble roles if required.

I would love to play one of the Labour whips, but also think the angry rebel left wing female labour MP is one of the Best Parts Ever.

[You've probably found this already, but there's a cast list of how they doubled it for the National on the internets... https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/sites/default/files/national-theatre-at-home-this-house-cast-list.pdf ]

Apparently Audrey Wise was involved in the revolution that overthrew the military dictatorship in Portugal, which is not something you can imagine many contemporary MP's going for.

Happy with any part!

I'm gender indifferent for this particular play, and equally happy to play parts from either party!

If you're able to send me a copy of the pdf that would also be awesome 🙂

Do you have enough people? I feel I should probably work on my dissertation tomorrow afternoon, but I haven't done a readthrough for ages, so I'd probably be up for it if you really need people.

I don't know it, so no part preferences, other than 'angry rebel left wing female labour MP' sounding fun!
