wildeabandon: photo of me running (running)
I had my first post-surgery attempt at a run this morning. It wasn't the most comfortable experience ever, but I managed a little over 5 km, and whilst it was slow for me, it was still definitely running. My gait was somewhat changed, taking extra care to keep my legs further apart, but I'm not sure to what extent that's because my new dangly bits are currently particularly tender and swollen, or whether it'll be a permanent change brought on by their mere presence.

I've got a hospital appointment tomorrow to remove one of the two remaining tubes, which I was considering running to, depending on how this morning's went, but it would be about 9km each way, and whilst I'm confident I could do it, based on how tender I felt today I suspect I really wouldn't enjoy it, so I'll travel by some other means. Look at me being all sensible and stuff :)

5km seems like a lot in the week after an anesthetic, even when you don't have gait altering new dangly bits! Hope you are able to do the boring but important resting and looking after yourself as well as starting to do the bits of everyday-life-stuff that you enjoy.
