I've been in my new job for three weeks now, and much as I'm enjoying it, it's very full on indeed. I'm hoping that once I've come up the learning curve I'm going to have a bit more time to breathe, especially since the spiritual direction course starts next week, which will be a whole other big demand on my time and energy.
I'm trying to work out what I can reasonably drop that won't either be an abdication of responsibility or make me miserable, and am leaning towards the conclusion that it might have to be the last bit of non-church volunteering that I'm still doing, which makes me feel a bit guilty. I'm trying to convince myself that actually, offering to do a thing when it needs doing isn't actually a commitment to keep on doing it in perpetuity, but I don't seem to entirely believe myself.
