Quick update

I realise I went a bit quiet on here, and also owe lots of people emails. I'm doing okay, but everything has been taking a lot more effort than it does at the best of times, which I think is a combination of grief and accumulated All This(tm) fatigue. I keep having an energetic day or two and thinking that I'm back to normal, but then having another tough on. Still, the trajectory is upwards.

Also, I've got less than a week left in my current job, after which I'll be able to take some time to rest a bit more thoroughly, as well as try to get a bit more caught up on non-work things. I've got another piece of work lined up to start a couple of weeks later (well, probably, we haven't finalised all the details yet, but it looks pretty likely to happen), so I'll have long enough for a decent break, but short enough that the break in income isn't a problem.

Sorry things have been hard, it sounds like the break coming up will be very good for you while not too long to lose the/a plot. I hope your last week goes well and you get some good things in your break.

Any plans for the break between contracts?

The last on I had was in June, and the 'onboarding' delays gave me an extra fornight of cycling in Kent.

Not so appealing in February, though.

I'm hoping to get back into a running habit, as I had just started to do so in the New Year, and then it completely collapsed. Other than that, probably lots of theological reading - I'm quite behind on my course reading, which obviously means I'm enthusiastically buying and devouring lots of only tangentially related books instead :)

I'm now reading a lot less, in general, and I can feel myself getting thicker.

The Murderbot Diaries may have reversed this, so I should probably get back into a mixture of light reading and more challenging work, starting at the 'light' end.
