wildeabandon: writing an appointment in a diary (scheduling)
Every Shrove Tuesday, without fail, I realise that it's been a year since I last ate pancakes, and resolve to remember that I really rather enjoy them, and am allowed to eat them on other days. Still, eating them in Lent, even though I generally avoid food based fasts because it can be bad for my brainweasels, doesn't feel quite in the spirit of things. And so every year, without fail, by Easter I've forgotten about them.

This year I have put a note in my diary on Low Sunday, which says "Remember you like pancakes!"

Good thinking!

I don't think I would remember to have them if I didn't have a [personal profile] djm4

You have a spreadsheet or something of things you can cook or something.

Put "Pancakes" on it!

I sort of think they are nicer for being a Special Occasion Food, but they are nice at other times too.

Good Plan!I

Also while treat-type pancakes prolly aren't particularly Lenten, I would suggest that pancakes as part of making leftovers into a meal are very much in the spirit of the season!

I make pancakes for L every Wednesday (to use up spare sourdough starter) and he likes them very much, but I put egg & milk in so don't get any myself :)
