I'm going on silent retreat at St Beuno's this week, which I'm very much looking forward to, but my word the journey is turning into something of an epic.

Trains out of Euston were completely fucked this morning, so the least ridiculous route from London to North Wales has involved going via Leeds. I'm currently sitting on the platform at Newton-le-Willows, and if so goes to plan from here on in, I should reach the retreat house nearly ten hours after leaving home. I have at least managed quite a bit of crochet and French listening practice.
