I've just had a meeting with the project manager for one of my clients, and they'd like to extend my contract for 3 days/week until the end of 2022. This is pretty much perfect, because at the rates I'm charging them, 3 days/week for 48 weeks/year keeps me just under the VAT registration threshold, so gives me a really good incentive to resist the temptation to take on more work. And I've got the security of it until the end of the year, and the work is interesting and varied enough that I don't think I'll end up too bored. And it'll be nice to actually see a project through, which is something that I don't really get to do very often.
And having a full two days/week for church and Encounter stuff means that I might actually be able to feel properly on top of both, which is going to be such a novelty. I might even have time for some new projects!
