- Don't take on any big new commitments or hobbies until after the wedding - TICK
That means now I can do aaaaaall the things I've been putting off, right? More seriously, I've got quite a lot of things on my to-do list that I just bumped until post-wedding that I need to get through, so I think I still want to try and stop taking on any more new stuff.
- monthly retrospectives
Obviously this one is a bit late, because I was away on honeymoon, but I think it's still going to be helpful. As I mentioned last month, my plan is to switch from annual goals to a combination of lifetime and quarterly ones, as a more effective way of focusing my time. I'm going to try and start that off from Q4 2019, which gives me a couple of weeks to start getting a plan together.
Finances
As anticipated last month, my August spending went slightly over budget but stayed under the annual budget/12, which I'm reasonably content with. Currently my September budget is looking tiny, because of planning very few things for after the honeymoon. I'm not going to be super strict about sticking to it, but if I can manage to only let it expand slightly then that will make a bit of a dent in some of the earlier overspending. I'll do a more in depth review at the end of September, but my compromise target of halfway between 2018 and my original target feels pretty achieveable.
Faith and Church
There's been stuff going on, but not really related to my original goals. This is an area that I need to think particularly carefully about in terms of what I need to do as maintenance vs development and growth.
Health
I've still not really managed to get back into a running habit. I did a couple of Parkruns in August, but very little else, and have now eaten up the entireity of the slack I built up earlier in the year.
Hobbies
As per the last update, this was on the back burner until after the wedding, and will stay there whilst I get caught up on other stuff.
