Last night I had my second conversation lesson. It went much better than the first. I was less nervous, and it showed. The teacher seemed a bit suprised by how much I had improved since last week. We spoke about Brexit. He'd been wondering why, when all the people he had asked thought that Brexit was a terrible idea, anyone had voted for it. I explained that most of the people who had voted for Brexit were not the kind of people who would learn a foreign language, because they don't like foreigners! He seemed to have a lightbulb moment, and it felt good to be communicating new ideas, rather than just exchanging functional sentences.
I listened to the last episode of the podcast that I've been listening to the last few weeks, and they only come out once a month, so I had to find something else. I tried several podcasts, but none grabbed my attention, and instead I have subscribed to Audible, and downloaded 'The Hobbit'.
