Hair!

I've been getting a bit self-conscious about my receding hairline recently, so with only a hint of regret decided to lose the shoulder-length locks and go for a style with a fringe. My stylist is excellent, and I'm very pleased with the results. I can't quite decide though whether the new cut looks better with a beard or without though, so am going to put it to a vote, obviously with the caveat that I may completely ignore the results, or more likely, switch depending on whether or not I can be arsed to shave. I can grow the beard back in a couple of weeks. The haircut is rather less reversible, and would take a couple of years.

I like both the beard and the non-beard look which is typically indecisive of this bisexual who refuses to pick.

I think you look younger without the beard which I can see being a negative or a positive depending on context.

Well, I was briefly very disappointed this post was not about the musical, but I got over that once I realised there were lots of cute Sebastian pics. I love the new look! Personally I marginally prefer not-beard, but it makes you look So Young! And like you should be in a hot androgynous boy band. I approve of this look very much, but you might get ID’d less with beard.

*grin* There is something not entirely unappealing about the thought of getting ID'd as I move into my forties, although it might get annoying if it happened all the time. There's also something quite tempting about the idea of having a belated twink phase, as I've never before been all of slender, male and young-looking at the same time.

Oh gosh. They all look very good in quite different ways. I'm not sure which is best, or which suits you best, but certainly either of the after pictures would be a good choice :)

I like both. Without beard you look younger and more androgynous, so I guess it depends on whether that's what you want. With a fast-growing beard you can alternate between the two states (assuming in-between state isn't too annoying).

I suspect that may well be what I end up doing. I quite like the youthful androgynous look as a social presentation, but it might not be optimal for, say, job interviews.

I'm always on team "longer hair is better" but it is of course your hair. But also I sort of think that fringe makes the slightly receding hair line more obvious (probably just me). But it is a nice style. I think you look more you with beard, but only because you've had one so long.

Unlike many of the previous commentators, I am a notorious pogonophile. I was sure I was going to tick the box telling you to grow it back but then when I looked at the pictures I liked both, so there you go. I definitely like the new hair cut a lot too.
